Dr. Apostolos Giovanis received a PhD in Marketing Science (1998), an MSc in Industrial Management (1994) and an Eng. Diploma in Production Engineering and Management (1992), all from the Technical University of Crete, Greece. He has extensive teaching and research experience during the last 15 years. Before joining academia, he has undertaken managerial positions in the field of marketing management in companies of the retailing and service sectors. His research interests are primarily in the areas of marketing of technology-mediated services, services marketing, branding, brand relationships management and new product/service management. He has published a number of referred conference papers and his work appeared in scientific journals such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Journal of Product and Brand Management, Journal of Brand Management, Service Theory and Practice, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Marketing Intelligence and Planning, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management and Technological Forecasting and Social Change.

Currently working as a Professor of Marketing Management at the University of West Attica and serves as Director of the UNIWA MBA. He has taught as an instructor of Management and Marketing at the Hellenic Open University during the last 10 yrs. He is member of the Editorial Board of two scientific journals and member of the Greek Marketing and the European Marketing Academies.
